Cellular Imaging: From Pixel to Publication

Teach how to generate well-designed, publication-quality figures, manuscripts in PDF format, and ultimately PhD theses from graphical and text data using Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) - Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and InDesign.

This course runs twice a year (October and May), on 4-5 consecutive mornings The course consists of 1-2 h of theory and instruction, followed by 2-3 h of practical computer training. Final exam: generate a chapter of a PhD thesis from raw graphics and text data.
PhD candidates who would like to get general understanding of software, best practices and workflows.
- General understanding of computer-generated praphical data formats, with special focus on pixel- and vector-based praphics
- Detailed understanding of optimal worklows to generate publication-quality figures and PhD thesis form any graphical or text data
- Focussed training in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and InDesign, tailored to needs of these workflows
